EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, expected December 2015
University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND
► Senior Capstone Project: The design of a world scale process facility for the production of methanol to olefins (MTO) in a group with two other people. This project involves:
● Reading, interpreting, and creating process and instrument, process flow, piping and instrument, plant layout, and equipment and piping layout diagrams.
● Determining types of equipment needed as well as equipment specifications and sizes.
● Determining optimum operating conditions; estimated energy usage.
● Creating project proposals and cost estimations.
● Performing formal and informal business presentations.
Bachelor of Science in Biology, December 2006
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, MN
► Senior Directed Research: Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development, May 2006 – December 2006
● In the yeast model Candida albicans, developed one homozygous and two doubly homozygous deletion strains. The three strains were evaluated for sensitivity to reactive oxygen species (ROS) and resistance to common antifungal drugs for phenotypes indicating a failure in the base excision repair (BER) pathway.
● This project involved many standard molecular and microbiological lab techniques that included: transformation, cell culture, PCR, sequencing, DNA gel electrophoresis, and phenotypical analysis.

WORK EXPERIENCE
R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN
Manufacturing Associate, May 2007 – September 2014
◆ Identified lyophilization problems by developing and executing test runs, gathering experimental data, then performing an analysis resulting in the improvement of several products.
◆ Explained complex topics to peers and management relating to lyophilization, endotoxin, freezing and thawing of protein solutions, pipette calibration, and expected production lot yields.
◆ Gathered information from vendors and made recommendations on purchases of new equipment that resulted in a more efficient and ergonomic dispensing process for the department.
◆ Increased the department’s production capability by promoting lean manufacturing concepts that standardized and simplified processes, and red...
